How to Make Money Online – 20 Rules for Success

Want to really learn how to make money online? This is for you! Without a big introduction into the post, let’s just get to it…

1) The 1st thing you need to do is quit searching for things like “how to make money online” and related phrases. I’m not saying that because I think you shouldn’t want to learn how to make money online, but because the sites and information you are going to find by searching for that stuff are more than likely going to do nothing but help you spend money online without earning anything. They all have an agenda.

It’s kind of like asking a casino owner in Atlantic City where you should go to gamble… Of course you are going to get their biased opinion and that is probably not in your best interest!

2) Quit buying every ebook, guide, offer, report, plugin, service, membership and so on that promises the next big way to make money online. And stop paying all the so called internet marketing “gurus” for systems or information you can get for free by spending a few minutes searching the internet.

3) Realize there is no such thing as a real “get rich quick” scheme. The sooner you stop falling for those, the better off you will be. Don’t chase fads and hyped up promises. There’s no such thing as overnight success.

4) Figure out how to get real attention. A scarce online resource is attention. But if you aim to create ways to get cheap attention and turn it into money, you might succeed for a while but in the long run, you will fail. The attention you want isn’t easy to come across and it certainly isn’t cheap (either in time, effort, or money).

5) Build trust. This is even more important and harder to get than attention. It takes time and a lot of work. People online are naturally skeptical, and for good reason, so you need to earn their trust.

6) You are trying to make money online but don’t be so concerned with the “online” part of it all. It can and probably will take plenty of effort off the internet as well. All you need to be worried about is figuring out how to create value. The rest will take care of itself.

7) Keep your day job, for now. It’s not a good idea to jump in full force by quitting your job and going full time with your online business from the beginning. Start by utilizing your spare time in the evenings, early mornings, lunch breaks, weekends and any other time you can.

8) Build up a solid reputation. You need a good, deserving reputation if you plan to make a living online into the future. Once you hit it big, you will be scrutinized similar to a politician or celebrity. People will try to bring you down so make sure you have nothing to hide.

9) Target a specialized niche. Be relentless about narrowing down your business into a particular niche market. It’s better to own a small niche than to be lost in a large niche where nobody will ever find you.

10) Find ways to connect the disconnected of the world. Not everyone is online and those who are don’t always know how to do the things we internet marketers take for granted. Be the person who teaches and you will make money hand over fist.

11) Be a leader. Self-explanatory so enough said about that!

12) Build a virtual empire that continually increases in value every day, month, year, forever.

13) Learn how to earn money offline. Once you figure out how to create true value face-to-face, it’s much easier to learn how to do it on the internet. The internet isn’t magic, it’s simply more efficient.

14) Be the “top dog” at something that people value all over the world. It might be easier said than done, but it’s worth more than a pile of gold if you can do it. Rockefeller, JP Morgan, Carnegie, Ford, and so many others made their names and fortunes by being the best at something everyone needed or wanted.

15) Find a good mentor and hang out with successful people. They say you are the average of those you associate with most often. Don’t be friends with people who are looking for shortcuts. Constantly interact with people you want to become like. Eventually you will rise to their level.

16) Fail and learn. The more often you fail and get up from those failures the more likely it will be that you succeed. The internet has given you the chance to fail without ruining your life, which in turn has give you the opportunity to earn more money with less risk.

17) Make a little extra money online to start, then scale as you can. Be unrelenting about going bigger, higher, and building a more successful home business. Don’t go for the gold right away. Start small and work your way up. You can always grow!

18) Go big or go home. You must think big and go for it. Shoot for the moon and never look back. The people closest to you will almost certainly try to squash your dreams either out of spite or because they are simply trying to protect you. Don’t listen to them. Just keep working toward your goals.

19) Keep learning. Learn everything that is needed to make money online (there’s a LOT) and keep up with the changes in technology. The internet is changing all the time and ways to earn money are constantly evolving. You must keep up with the times or you will quickly get left behind.

20) This not a game or something you try out for a while to see how it goes. It’s a real business and needs to be treated that way if you ever want to become successful. You get what you put in and it takes a LOT of time and hard work to build an internet business you can earn a living from.

Never give up! Never, ever, ever stop until you have found the success you desire. You will fail at times, but every failure is another step towards succeeding. You need the persistence and perseverance to never accept defeat. Learn from your mistakes and keep going. How to Make Money Online with a Minimal Budget

Almost every day on internet marketing forums, blog comments, social networking sites, and other places all over the internet, I see people saying something similar to this…

“I need to learn how to make money online but I don’t have any budget to spend. What should I do?”

While it definitely can’t hurt to have some extra money lying around that you can invest in your online business, it’s not something that you must have. There are several things you can do to earn money online without spending any money, or at least very little. In this post, I will give you a few ideas to get you started.

* One of the most popular ways is freelancing. If you have a certain skill that other people are willing to pay for such as writing, web design, SEO, programming, graphic design, etc… You can make big bucks hiring yourself out to others. Many people will pay a lot of money for a skill you may take for granted. Therefore, what you need to do is write down all the skills you posses then do a little research to see if there is a demand for any of them. Chances are there is.

The best places to visit in order to see if your skills are in demand are freelance websites such as elance, odesk, and other similar sites where most of the freelancers and contractors are at. These sites are where many businesses and individual entrepreneurs go to look for people to do work for them. Freelancing won’t cost you anything and you can earn some pretty darn good money from it.

* You can also make money blogging. This is something that is best to have a little amount of money to invest so you can at least get your own domain name and web hosting. However, you can use free blogging platforms such as blogger, wordpress, tumblr, and others if you absolutely have no money at all. Then, you will use free internet marketing strategies such as article marketing, guest blogging, social networking, and several others to drive traffic to your blog. You can monetize it with affiliate links, Adsense, paid advertising, CPA ads, or whatever else fits well with your particular niche.

* Affiliate marketing is another thing you can do to make money online for free. Yes, I know this is contrary to popular belief, but it’s true. You don’t need to spend money in order to become a successful affiliate marketer. As a matter of fact, you really don’t even need your own domain or webhost. Of course, it does help, but there are plenty of free blogging platforms and other free web hosting companies and site builders you can use. And just about every affiliate program is free to join.

All you really need to do is go to the Clickbank.com marketplace and find a product to sell in your niche. There’s a very high chance you will find at least one related to your niche. Ask the product creator for a review copy so you can check it out before promoting it. Tell them you are an internet marketer and are considering promoting it but you want to make sure it’s high quality first. Most of them will send it to you. Although you will have much more success outside of the make money online niche. After reading the product, write a review to put up on your blog. Then, simply drive traffic to it via various free online marketing methods.

* Another thing you can do is participate in online focus groups and paid surveys. The high paying ones are a tough to find and you can only do so many in a day, so you aren’t going to get rich using this method, but you can certainly earn some extra money without spending a cent. Just Google online focus groups, paid surveys, get paid to programs, and other related searches to find them. You can also ask around on work at home forums. Usually there will be members who know of some good ones and are willing to share.

Those are just a few of the ways to make money online for free or on a very limited budget. This is by no means an exhaustive list. There are plenty of other ways as well. The point is — you can do it. You don’t need to spend money in order to earn money online. Yes, it does help, but it’s certainly not required.

Here are the things that are NOT inside BTF…

* How to build fake blogs or other crap like that. You’ve seen the blogs that look like online newspapers or news websites. You know the ones that sell worthless products and continue to bill the customer over and over without their consent. They don’t recommend misleading people and they don’t do it themselves.

* How to trick search engines into liking your site or giving you undeserved high rankings. Tricks and schemes might work for a little while but they don’t last. If you are trying to make a quick buck through spamming or other black hat stuff, this is not the product for you.

* A customer service team located in a third world country that doesn’t even understand your questions or problems. They have excellent customer service that goes above and beyond.

* Tons of upsells. They don’t make you buy a bunch of expensive stuff in order to make their system work.

* …Or any other crap you might be expecting from an internet marketing product. This is the real deal. Honest, straightforward, and realistic.

Everyone from newbie’s to full out gurus can benefit from the information and resources that Bring the Fresh has to offer!

Obviously this isn’t some miracle product that will have you making money overnight without doing any work. There’s NO such thing! However, if you are willing to follow their advice and put in the necessary work to build a real online business, then “Bring the Fresh” truly is the system you have always dreamed of finding.

Okay let’s get to the real meat of my review…

If you regularly read this blog or any of my others, or subscribe to my newsletters, then you will know that I don’t do a lot of reviews. Yes, I’ve obviously done a few here and there, but they are certainly not a big part of my blogging efforts. Out of hundreds upon hundreds of posts across multiple sites – only a very small percentage of them are reviews. However, something called “Bring the Fresh” was recently recommended to me by a close friend of mine who also happens to be a high level internet marketer. He’s one of the few people I truly trust online and when he speaks, I listen.

Plus, I recognized the name of the owner, Kelly Felix (of “The Rich Jerk” fame) who is very well known in the internet marketing world and puts out excellent information. I’ve been following him for a long time and have a lot of respect for him. I’ve also purchased some of his other products and they have always been top-notch! So I decided I should probably at least give BringTheFresh a look and see what it’s all about.

I told Kelly Felix that I would write a review of bring the fresh if he wanted to set me up with an account. I made it very clear to him that I would give my honest opinion of it and tell the truth about what I thought – even if I thought it sucked! I do not write positive reviews just because I was given a free copy of something or because the owner is a well known internet marketer, or someone I know, or for any other reason – unless they truly deserve it. If it’s bad then I am going to call it out. Plain and simple. He still set me up with a full membership after hearing that so he must have been confident in his work. I’ll give him a plus for that right away.

Of course, I still didn’t have high expectations being the skeptic that I am. And having been an internet marketer for many years seeing all the new crap coming out all the time has made me even more cautious and pessimistic. But I tried to go in with as much of an open mind as I could.

The first thing I noticed is that their sales page isn’t full of hype and outrageous promises like you see far too often on most of the “how to make money online” types of products. It basically just gives you a rundown of who they are and what they do, an overview of what is inside and what’s not inside along with some videos, testimonials, and a bit of other information. They get another plus right off the bat for that.

But the sales page isn’t really what matters; it’s just a small part of the equation. It’s what’s inside that you pay for and ultimately the only thing that counts. So I dug in expecting to get through it all in an hour or two and be done. Ha! The joke was on me. This thing is loaded.

BTF isn’t some short ebook or report like you see so often with products in the make money online niche. Instead, this is a full blown membership site complete with videos, guides, interviews, recommended products, forums, bonuses, and so much more. I didn’t count up every minute but my rough estimate is that there has to be somewhere around 40 hours of video plus a ton of other stuff.

What is Bring the Fresh?

Some of the lessons taught and resources include; market selection, product creation, website success, link building and SEO for high rankings, marketing, conversions, templates, etc… It is absolutely packed with information! And it’s not just a bunch of fluff and filler content either. No, this is real advice that you can actually use to make money, a lot of it!

I’ve been an internet marketing business owner making a great living from my online business since 2003, so I have a ton of experience. Even still BTF taught me several things I didn’t know, gave me a few more twists on some things I did know, and refreshed me on some things I had forgotten about. I definitely didn’t think it would have much of anything new that I didn’t already know, but I was wrong. It truly is real and useful information for making money online.

Here’s a quick list of my positives about it:

  • It works – I know that the stuff they are teaching actually does work. That’s really all that matters and the #1 reason why I recommend it.
  • Several hours of video – Everything is shown to you so it is much easier to understand and implement.
  • Solid advice and training – Not a bunch of fluff and filler. It’s packed full of truly useful stuff.
  • Easy to follow – You aren’t left more confused than when you started as tends to happen with other internet marketing products.
  • Great value at a low price – They massively over-deliver.
  • Up to date – They continually update as needed.
  • Active forum – Lots of discussion going on in there about all sorts of different internet marketing and money making topics.
  • Amazing support – Questions are always answered.

And a couple very minor negative things I found:

  • Design – I know this doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things but it’s not a pretty site or back end by any means. I think it certainly could have been designed much better. That doesn’t take away any of the excellent content but it does make the membership seem less professional.
  • It could use more ebooks to follow – The videos are great and you can watch them over and over again as needed, but sometimes I like to have text to read and reference if needed. That would have been the icing on the cake. There is a very handy “guide to everything” that does pretty much sum it all up in an easy to read and follow fashion, but I still would have liked more of the sections broken down into ebooks.

One thing I want to make very clear about Bring the Fresh is that it is not a scam, or rip-off, or fraud in any sense of those words! It’s also not one of those stupid “get rich quick” schemes. I’ve seen a few bring the fresh scam reviews and I have no idea how or why they would say that because it definitely isn’t. I have many years of internet marketing experience so I have seen a lot of scams, ripoffs, schemes, misleading information, and everything else under the sun. In my opinion, this is one site that certainly doesn’t deserve the negative reviews. It is the real deal.

Once again, Bring the Fresh is NOT a scam! It is 100% legit. I give it my highest recommendation! Even after several years since I first got my membership, it is still a high quality product with very useful and usable information. They keep it up-to-date and make sure the information is always relevant. I’ve been an internet marketing specialist doing SEO and making money online since all the way back in 2003, so I have tons of experience, and I still use BTF as a guide to help me with new tips even to this day.

It’s rare for me to fully recommend a product but in this case I do. I see no reason why BTF should be avoided in any way. There are few products I’ve ever seen that I can confidently say that about. It is legitimate and if you follow the things they teach and take action on them, you will make money online. There’s not much else to say so that is the end of my honest bring the fresh review.

It’s no big secret that there are many great ways to make money online, and the list of options just keeps growing every year. However, some of the options are clearly better than others from the start, and a lot of the time it really depends on your personal preferences, training, work ethic, time you have available, dedication, and whether or not you are able to take the extra time and effort to learn new skills, and more.

You can opt to work on building income streams from several different methods at once, or stick with just one until you have mastered it. The choice is yours but when you are first getting started, I highly recommend sticking with only one or two things until you have more experience, knowledge, and resources to continue branching out.

1. Start Your Own Website

There’s no doubt that one of the best ways to make money online is to start your own websites so you can earn an income from any of the various ways to earn money on the internet via your own site. These include affiliate sales, paid advertising, Adsense and other CPC service, CPA programs, selling your own information products, and several other methods.

There are many different types of websites you can create and it really depends on your own preference as well as what you have planned for the site. However, one of the easiest and most popular types of websites you can do is to start a blog. There are quite a few really good blogging platforms that you can use to quickly and easily start your blog. The most important thing to do before starting your website is to research and find a good niche that will be profitable. Just throwing up a site about any old topic is not a good idea at all.

After you have found a good potentially profitable niche and started your website it’s time to get it ranked highly in the search engines. That is the best way to make money online with your own website because the traffic from search engines is highly targeted and keeps coming in every day with very little extra work from you after the initial work has been done. You’ll get your site ranked highly by implementing search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. Mainly this just means you need to fill your site with high quality content and get lots of keyword anchored backlinks.

You can also build websites to sell from scratch or register new domains just so you can sell them later. It’s basically the same thing as buying them with the intent to resell and it’s often referred to as “flipping” them. Both website flipping and domain flipping can earn you a very good living.

You can take a look at flippa.com or another marketplace for buying and selling websites and domains to see just how much money can be made doing it. The profits vary greatly depending on how popular the website is and how much money it currently earns, as well as many other factors. Also with domains there are several factors that go into determining how much money you can make from a sale.

As with most ways to make money on the internet, there are some things that need to be learned before you can jump in and start making money from site flipping or domain flipping, but it certainly can be done. There are a lot of websites, blogs, forums, and ebooks with all the information you need to learn how to get started with this internet business model.

7. Paid Surveys and “Get Paid To” (GPT) Websites

I’m sure by now in your quest to learn how to make money on the internet; you’ve seen at least one paid online survey website or GPT site. They are all over the place so it’s not very difficult to find one. You can get paid to shop, get paid to click ads, get paid to take surveys, get paid to complete free offers, get paid to post in forums, or get paid to do all sorts of other tasks.

One of the best parts of this way to earn money online is that it’s typically very easy to do and you don’t need a website or any special skills, and you can usually start earning money quickly. The bad thing about this is that you usually make very little amounts of money for each task you do so it takes a long time to see any significant earnings. And there are a lot of GPT scams out there so you have to be very careful when choosing to sign up with one.

8. Real Online Work at Home Jobs

A lot of the time when people think about ways of making money on the internet they only think about running their own online home business or doing something strictly for themselves as their own boss such as the other methods listed in this top ten. However, finding a real online work at home job can also be one of the best ways to make money online. There are many places who hire people for work from home jobs and many companies are now letting employees telecommute. Plus more are starting to do it as it’s becoming the norm.

Although it should be noted that these online jobs can often be very difficult to get because of all the competition for them and the fact that there are still relatively few of them available. You might land one right away but don’t expect that to happen. You certainly can get one but it will probably require some patience and persistence. And one final thing to remember is that you should never pay for a work at home job. These are different than business opportunities and other things like that, they are “jobs” so you don’t pay them, they pay you.

9. Make Money on eBay and Other Similar Sites

Auction sites such as eBay, uBid, eBid, and others as well as online classified sites such as Craigslist and Kijiji can be great ways to make money online. This is no secret at all as just about everyone knows of this method and it’s one of the most popular ways that people use to try their luck at making money online when they are first getting started. Some people make a fortune off these sites while many others earn a decent living, but most of the time you can just expect to make some extra spending money.

If you actually have a product to sell you can use these sites to sell it, or if you have a lot of stuff in storage that you no longer need you can sell it for some extra cash. Drop shipping is a very popular way to earn money using these marketplaces although your profit margin will be much less that way, but you don’t assume much risk of loss either.

I actually made a lot of money on eBay several years ago by selling telescopic steel batons from a company that would drop ship them to the buyer. I never actually had them on hand but I was earning hundreds of dollars per week from them. Then eBay stopped allowing those to be sold so I lost that income stream. But the point is that it worked and still does today if you find the right product and a reliable drop shipping company.

10. Make Money Blogging

This is very similar to #1 above but they can be a bit different, and many people consider them to be two completely different things. If you are making money from your own websites that you have researched and created around specific niches then you will most likely be called an internet marketer. If you make money blogging about a certain topic then you will most likely be called a pro blogger. Some people use these terms interchangeably, and often they are right, but it is not necessarily the case. Just because you are an internet marketer does not necessarily mean you are a blogger, and vice versa. Yes, you can be both, and many people are, but many people also are not.

Confused yet? It’s really not as complicated as it may seem and there’s actually not much of a difference. Internet marketers tend to focus more on niche research, search engine rankings, and building many websites. Bloggers tend to focus more on one topic with one blog, updating very frequently with new posts, building relationships with readers, and getting repeat social traffic. There are no set rules to it all and you can make money blogging many different ways. You can be a “blogger” or “internet marketer” — or both. Basically it just comes down to what you prefer and what skills you have or want to learn, and it really doesn’t matter either way as long as you have your own website(s) and you earn money from it.
