Teaching you how to make money online since 1999

What Is Bring The Fresh?

As an aspiring internet marketing business owner, SEO specialist, affiliate marketer, or someone just looking for ways to make money online, I am sure you have heard of “Bring the Fresh” and you might be wondering what it is? In a nutshell bring the fresh (BTF) is a membership site that is fully loaded with useful information and resources that actually teach you how to make money online.

They teach an incredible system for building profitable websites, getting them ranked highly in Google and other search engines with SEO, and having them generate free passive income for you. Basically it’s a step-by-step blueprint for building a successful online business without needing a lot of money to do so.

UPDATE: Bring The Fresh is SOLD OUT for the time being and has therefore been taken off the market.

I’ve written my full Bring the Fresh Review below. So, if you want, you can skip all this intro stuff and scroll down to read my review of bring the fresh. If you want to know some of thoughts about it beforehand, I will give you a little more detail about what the BTF membership actually includes and teaches.

There’s no doubt that Bring the Fresh has caused a lot of buzz in the internet marketing world and has been recommended and promoted by many of the top marketers in this industry. The owner (Kelly Felix) has created an awesome series of videos that teach market research, product creation, copywriting, SEO, affiliate marketing, PPC, video marketing, and TONS more. He really thought of everything and included it all.

Bring The Fresh Reviews

Here’s a quick rundown of just some of the stuff you will find inside BTF…

* You are shown exactly how to quickly create a website in a competitive market that the search engines will love. Yes, it is simple, and it really does work, even if you have no idea how to build a website.

* How to get numerous high authority websites to link to you. No spam or crappy links. We are talking about real authority links in a natural way.

* How to find profitable keywords fast. You will learn exactly how to go after “buying” keywords where the people searching will be ready to spend money now.

* A behind the scenes look at incredibly successful websites and online businesses. You get to watch as they are created from start to finish, and how they are made profitable, time and time again. There is nothing left out, including a sneak peek inside campaigns that brought in millions of dollars in profits. Also, an up close look at some of the biggest product launches in the history of internet marketing!

* Access to a private members only forum. They even personally answer questions there all the time, as do numerous successful members. The information in the forum alone is more than worth the cost of bringthefresh.

* Excellent support. You will never have any trouble getting a hold of them.

* …And MUCH more!

Here are the things that are NOT inside BTF…

* A useless get rich quick scheme. While it is true that some of their members have earned small fortunes in a short amount of time, and many earn hundreds of dollars per day from the information taught in BTF, most people are happy with an extra $100 a day or so; on autopilot. That’s a much more realistic goal and something that can easily be done by virtually anyone from the teachings in Bring the Fresh. Although you can make a LOT more. They don’t give you false hyped up promises of becoming a millionaire overnight.

* How to build fake blogs or other crap like that. You’ve seen the blogs that look like online newspapers or news websites. You know the ones that sell worthless products and continue to bill the customer over and over without their consent. They don’t recommend misleading people and they don’t do it themselves.

* How to trick search engines into liking your site or giving you undeserved high rankings. Tricks and schemes might work for a little while but they don’t last. If you are trying to make a quick buck through spamming or other black hat stuff, this is not the product for you.

* A customer service team located in a third world country that doesn’t even understand your questions or problems. They have excellent customer service that goes above and beyond.

* Tons of upsells. They don’t make you buy a bunch of expensive stuff in order to make their system work.

* …Or any other crap you might be expecting from an internet marketing product. This is the real deal. Honest, straightforward, and realistic.

Everyone from newbie’s to full out gurus can benefit from the information and resources that Bring the Fresh has to offer!

Obviously this isn’t some miracle product that will have you making money overnight without doing any work. There’s NO such thing! However, if you are willing to follow their advice and put in the necessary work to build a real online business, then “Bring the Fresh” truly is the system you have always dreamed of finding.

Again, I encourage you to continue reading below to find my full and very real review of bring the fresh. It will help give you some more information about what I actually found inside.

Okay let’s get to the real meat of my review…

If you regularly read this blog or any of my others, or subscribe to my newsletters, then you will know that I don’t do a lot of reviews. Yes, I’ve obviously done a few here and there, but they are certainly not a big part of my blogging efforts. Out of hundreds upon hundreds of posts across multiple sites – only a very small percentage of them are reviews. However, something called “Bring the Fresh” was recently recommended to me by a close friend of mine who also happens to be a high level internet marketer. He’s one of the few people I truly trust online and when he speaks, I listen.

Plus, I recognized the name of the owner, Kelly Felix (of “The Rich Jerk” fame) who is very well known in the internet marketing world and puts out excellent information. I’ve been following him for a long time and have a lot of respect for him. I’ve also purchased some of his other products and they have always been top-notch! So I decided I should probably at least give BringTheFresh a look and see what it’s all about.

I told Kelly Felix that I would write a review of bring the fresh if he wanted to set me up with an account. I made it very clear to him that I would give my honest opinion of it and tell the truth about what I thought – even if I thought it sucked! I do not write positive reviews just because I was given a free copy of something or because the owner is a well known internet marketer, or someone I know, or for any other reason – unless they truly deserve it. If it’s bad then I am going to call it out. Plain and simple. He still set me up with a full membership after hearing that so he must have been confident in his work. I’ll give him a plus for that right away.

Of course, I still didn’t have high expectations being the skeptic that I am. And having been an internet marketer for many years seeing all the new crap coming out all the time has made me even more cautious and pessimistic. But I tried to go in with as much of an open mind as I could.

The first thing I noticed is that their sales page isn’t full of hype and outrageous promises like you see far too often on most of the “how to make money online” types of products. It basically just gives you a rundown of who they are and what they do, an overview of what is inside and what’s not inside along with some videos, testimonials, and a bit of other information. They get another plus right off the bat for that.

But the sales page isn’t really what matters; it’s just a small part of the equation. It’s what’s inside that you pay for and ultimately the only thing that counts. So I dug in expecting to get through it all in an hour or two and be done. Ha! The joke was on me. This thing is loaded.

BTF isn’t some short ebook or report like you see so often with products in the make money online niche. Instead, this is a full blown membership site complete with videos, guides, interviews, recommended products, forums, bonuses, and so much more. I didn’t count up every minute but my rough estimate is that there has to be somewhere around 40 hours of video plus a ton of other stuff.

What is Bring the Fresh?

Some of the lessons taught and resources include; market selection, product creation, website success, link building and SEO for high rankings, marketing, conversions, templates, etc… It is absolutely packed with information! And it’s not just a bunch of fluff and filler content either. No, this is real advice that you can actually use to make money, a lot of it!

I’ve been an internet marketing business owner making a great living from my online business since 2003, so I have a ton of experience. Even still BTF taught me several things I didn’t know, gave me a few more twists on some things I did know, and refreshed me on some things I had forgotten about. I definitely didn’t think it would have much of anything new that I didn’t already know, but I was wrong. It truly is real and useful information for making money online.

Here’s a quick list of my positives about it:

  • It works – I know that the stuff they are teaching actually does work. That’s really all that matters and the #1 reason why I recommend it.
  • Several hours of video – Everything is shown to you so it is much easier to understand and implement.
  • Solid advice and training – Not a bunch of fluff and filler. It’s packed full of truly useful stuff.
  • Easy to follow – You aren’t left more confused than when you started as tends to happen with other internet marketing products.
  • Great value at a low price – They massively over-deliver.
  • Up to date – They continually update as needed.
  • Active forum – Lots of discussion going on in there about all sorts of different internet marketing and money making topics.
  • Amazing support – Questions are always answered.

And a couple very minor negative things I found:

  • Design – I know this doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things but it’s not a pretty site or back end by any means. I think it certainly could have been designed much better. That doesn’t take away any of the excellent content but it does make the membership seem less professional.
  • It could use more ebooks to follow – The videos are great and you can watch them over and over again as needed, but sometimes I like to have text to read and reference if needed. That would have been the icing on the cake. There is a very handy “guide to everything” that does pretty much sum it all up in an easy to read and follow fashion, but I still would have liked more of the sections broken down into ebooks.

One thing I want to make very clear about Bring the Fresh is that it is not a scam, or rip-off, or fraud in any sense of those words! It’s also not one of those stupid “get rich quick” schemes. I’ve seen a few bring the fresh scam reviews and I have no idea how or why they would say that because it definitely isn’t. I have many years of internet marketing experience so I have seen a lot of scams, ripoffs, schemes, misleading information, and everything else under the sun. In my opinion, this is one site that certainly doesn’t deserve the negative reviews. It is the real deal.

Once again, Bring the Fresh is NOT a scam! It is 100% legit. I give it my highest recommendation! Even after several years since I first got my membership, it is still a high quality product with very useful and usable information. They keep it up-to-date and make sure the information is always relevant. I’ve been an internet marketing specialist doing SEO and making money online since all the way back in 2003, so I have tons of experience, and I still use BTF as a guide to help me with new tips even to this day.

It’s rare for me to fully recommend a product but in this case I do. I see no reason why BTF should be avoided in any way. There are few products I’ve ever seen that I can confidently say that about. It is legitimate and if you follow the things they teach and take action on them, you will make money online. There’s not much else to say so that is the end of my honest bring the fresh review.

Hopefully this has helped you make an informed decision about BTF.

Keyword Selection

One of the most important aspects of making money online is keyword selection. If you don’t pick the right keyword you run two risks:

  1. You won’t be able to rank for it
  2. If you do rank for it, you won’t make any money

As you can imagine either of these scenarios can be extremely frustrating. Even the best of us can run into a keyword the ends up being far harder than it should be, but people new to SEO often choose to go after search terms that they will never rank for. There are some pretty basic ‘guidelines’ that you can use to help you go after terms that you can be successful in ranking your site for (and I say guidelines because keyword selection is more of an art than a science).

  1. If the keyword isn’t in the title, you can beat it
  2. The lower the PR the better (While PR isn’t conclusive it is certainly indicative of page strength)… as an easy guideline if the site is PR 3 or less you can beat it

Really if you find a keyword that satisfies both of those guidelines then you should have little trouble getting your site to rank.

The next part of your consideration is will the term get my site traffic, and more to the point will the term make me money? I know what your thinking… my god this guy is going to give me more guidelines. Well think again. This time it will be a formula :)

First thing you want to do is go look at a keyword tool and see how many EXACT searches the keyword get per month. The next thing you need to look at is what the CPC of the keyword is. With that information you can figure out if the keyword will make you money. Here is what you do:

Exact Searches * .4 *.05 * CPC * .25 = Keyword Income Potential

The .4 is because 1st place in the serps gets around 40% of the traffic for that search, the .05 is because a typical site can count on converting 5% of visitors to ad clicks, and the .25 is because google will generally pay you are 25% of what they pay advertisers. For those of you who aren’t that good at math I’ll simplify that a bit down to this formula, but it doesn’t make as much sense to look at:

Exact Searches * CPC * 0.005 = Keyword Income Potential

Generally if I am building a small niche site I am looking for a keyword with income potential of around $50 or more.

So now you know how to choose a keyword that will both make you money and will pay you something too. Best of luck!

The Benefits of Spending Time In Forums

The forums I am specifying are webmaster forums. Forums is a place where you can learn a lot of things. I like forums because you would get immediate answer from people that are online in the forum and know the answer to your question. The benefits of spending time in forums are

1. Getting Knowledge – Every newbie should spend their time on forums because there would be a lot of people over there to help them out. Forums are better than blogs because it enables people to exchange ideas better than blogs. Blogs are personal, so the blog owner might not publish any contradicting ideas on his blog.

2. Blog Post Ideas – If you have a blog in the blogging niche and you run out of ideas, I would encourage you to visit forums to ideas from forums. Write blog posts that answer newbies questions.

3. Drive Traffic to Your Blog – After answering newbies questions in your blog post, you can post the URL of blog post on any thread telling newbies to visit this link if they want to learn more about that issue.

4. Make Money – You can make money by advertising your affiliate links or sell your ebook. If you are a programmer, you can build websites template to sell or assist others with their project for a fee. You can also be a freelancer by doing forum posting or blogs commenting.

5. Know Other Bloggers and Blogs – You can also make friends with other bloggers that you can share ideas with or they can help you in your link building campaign. You can also visit other blogs where you can learn more about blogging or what is going on in the blogosphere.

6. Exchange Links – Forums enable you to exchange links with other webmaster. Remember, to get to the top of the first page on Google, you need backlinks. Exchanging links would enable you to be on the top.

Make Money with Google Adsense

What is Google Adsense and How do You Make Money With it?

Adsense is an advertising program run by Google and it is a very popular way to earn money online. To make money from adsense, you have to put a javascript code from your adsense account into your blog or site. The code will generate an ad in the section of your blog where you put it – i.e. if you put the code in the middle of your blog post, it would generate an ad in that spot based on the content your post is about. If someone clicks on the ad, Google will pay you a certain amount of money based on a percentage of the ad revenue per click.

So making money from Google Adsense seems easy right? You just get a blog, slap adsense on the blog, then you start making money when someone clicks your ad. Also, if you read my post on make money posting links on Google, the example site also make it look easy. But the problem with this is where will you get someone to click your ad?

Google will ban you if you click your own ads. There are many people that Google have banned from their first day on being accepted into the adsense program because they were clicking their ads. Most of them were just experimenting. They wanted to know if their ad is working if someone clicks on it. They clicked on their ad multiple times (or had a friend do it) and they got that dreaded email from Google that their account have been banned. Also don’t tell people to click on your adsense ads – that is just asking for trouble.

To get people to visit your site and become potential ads clickers, you have to either be social media active or have good search engine rankings. Being social active means that you would drive people (traffic) to your blog by commenting on other people’s blogs, being active in forums, posting on social media sites such as facebook, digg, reddit, delicious, twitter, etc. To have a good search engine ranking, you should have optimized your blog – both off site and on site. This is called SEO’ing your site, and is good for Adsense if you do it correctly.

You should do both ways to get traffic to your site if possible. But if you don’t have time, you should try to improve your rank on search engines because those are the ones that click on ads because they want something; such as looking for the answer for a question or looking for how to get something. Social traffic don’t typically click on ads nearly as much. They are just looking for you to return to their site and nothing else. If you do a good job blending your adsense ads, you might get some clicks from social traffic.

The amount you can make on Adsense depends on your keywords (and many other variables). Certain keywords pay much better than others. For instance, if your niche is credit, then you can make a pretty good amount for one click for the keyword credit report. If your niche is make money online, you can also do quite well for some of the top keywords. This is what you can make if your site is very well targeted for that niche. Of course, you can earn a lot less for other niches. You can get clicks that would give you next to nothing, so you have to choose your topics wisely.

You also have to pass some guidelines to get accepted into the Google Adsense program. They don’t accept everyone so you need to have a high quality website before you can start showing the ads and make money with google adsense.

Tips On How You Can Increase Your Rankings

In my previous post about how to increase your page rank, I just wrote about using dofollow commenting and a little bit of directory submission. My purpose of that post was to write about how to do dofollow commenting to increase your page rank. In retrospect, that should have been the title of that post.

From my experience and questions I have asked other webmasters, you can increase your search engine rankings by:

1. Blog Commenting – You would comment on blogs that are related to yours. Some blogs require a certain amount of comments before the  blog dofollow the commenter. Anytime, you drop a comment, go back to the blog and make sure your comment is do follow. If not, continue dropping comments till it is do follow.

2. Directories – Submit your site to directories that have a PR. Start submitting your site with the highest PR directories you know of. If you have money, it is better to do paid submission. This shows that the directory owner doesn’t allow spam sites in the directory.

3. Link Exchanges – Exchange links with sites that have a higher PR. As in biology, diffusion occurs from a region of concentration to a region of lower concentration. When you exchange with a higher PR site, the site would leak some page rank juice to you. Make sure your link is dofollow on the blog. But don’t too have hopes, the higher PR blog might lose its PR on the next update.

4. Internal Linking – If you link to your other post pages, you can pass some PR juice to the pages.

5. Guest Blogging – You can blog for other sites in your niche. You are helping them out by giving them unique content for their site and in exchange for your help, you will get a link back to your website in the post.

Another tip is if you can get other bloggers to link to you in their post page. There are 2 ways which this can happen. One is by your control and the other is not by your control. The one that is by your control, you can do it by looking for blogs that allow guest posts, holding a contest or exchanging articles with other bloggers. The one that is not by your control is by writing quality content, by being controversial, and by giving useful information and resources to other bloggers.

When is the Next PR Update

I wished I knew the answer to this question. This is a question that is normally asked in webmaster’s forums. People speculate when the next update would be. The only people that knows this answer are those Google employees because they are the ones doing it.

Already, there are speculations that the next toolbar PR update would be in July because Google shows us the PR updates after 3 months. For this year 2009, the first toolbar update was on January 1st. The next update was on April 1st. I can speculate that the next update would either be on July 1st or August 1st. I chose 1st because the PR updates had occurred on the 1st day of the month. Google is not obligated to follow a schedule. It can update the toolbar PR any time.

The toolbar PR would be likely updated on July, but the real PR of web pages are updated daily. The toolbar update is lagging behind. What you see on the toolbar is what Google wants you to see. I am saying the true PR value of a site is updated daily because of my experience with an expired domain.

I bought an expired PR 3 domain in February. This was my first time of buying an expired domain. The seller was selling it for $20. I thought that was cheap because to get a permanent link from a PR 2 site, the seller might charge you $10 for 1 link. If you want to buy 2 links, that means you would have to pay $20. I saw that buying the PR 3 domain for $20 is cheap because I can put unlimited links on the site to help me make money online. I did nothing to the domain. I just installed wordpress on the domain. After 3 weeks of the purchase, I visited the site and my toolbar was showing me gray i.e. Page Rank (n/a). Google took the PR away from the site. This was before the April PR update. I thought it was a mistake, that my toolbar was acting weird. I waited for a week and when it still showed me PR n/a, I accepted the fact that the PR is gone and the site needs to be put to rest.

I also have also noticed that when I am searching for a keyword on Google, some new web pages rank higher than some web sites with PR. I wonder why would Google give that new webpage with no PR a higher search engine ranking than the already existing site with PR. Both sites have some of the keywords I am looking for. It is after a PR update, that I would notice that the new webpage would later have a higher PR than the older site.

As no one really knows when next is the toolbar PR update, you just have to continue building quality links. The more quality links you build the higher your PR would be i.e it is much easy to get your site to be PR 1, but it needs more work to get your site to a PR 3. To get your site to be PR 7, you need to know webmasters that have PR 8 sites and above to link to you. You should have a very good network to get that. Don’t get me wrong, it is possible to get a PR 7 from PR 1 sites, but you need like half a million of PR 1 sites. This is according to the tnx PR table.

How to increase Your Page Rank

In the make money online blogosphere, I can say most of the bloggers are obsessed with their page rank and they are always looking for ways on how to improve their page rank. Your pagerank is like a badge showing your success in SEO because it is all about optimizing your blog for search engines. From my understanding of page rank, Google gives you the page rank value based on how its bot sees the authority of your blog. If you have quality backlinks, your pagerank would go up.

Page rank also raises the advertising price of your blog because advertisers want backlinks. Some advertisers don’t want to advertise on a blog that has a PR 0. They would only advertise on a PR 0 blog if the blog has a lot of traffic. But they would not pay you the same amount that they would pay someone with a PR 4 blog and a lot of traffic.

You can increase your PR by commenting on blogs, writing good content, guest posting, article submissions, press releases, directories, and many other ways. Writing good content is subjective. It depends on the reader. If the reader likes it, and he has a blog, he may link to you. If he doesn’t like it, then you get no link. Buying links is expensive and risky. You need to have extra money to be able to do that. Buying links is also not recommended because if you are caught by Google, they would likely penalize. Commenting on other people’s blogs is probably the easiest way to increase your PR.

If you plan on boosting your blog’s PR, you would need to have Firefox browser because it makes your work easier. Other browsers are good, but Firefox has the right SEO tools.  You need to install these three add ons: Auto-fill forms, NoDofollow addon and SEO toolbar.

For the Auto-fill form addon, you need to customize the addon. The Auto-fill iron would auto-fill the comment section of a blog. It would autofill the name, url and email section. The NoDofollow addon would tell if a link is nofollow or dofollow (Dofollow gives you some PR juice while nofollow gives you no PR juice, you just get a backlink). To activate it, you have to right click and select the NoDofollow. The SEO toolbar is just to show you the PR of the page.

When you visit a blog with the NoDofollow addon activate, if you see a red color on the commenters names, it means it is a nofollow link. If the color is light blue, then it is a dofollow. You should leave a comment on that page. Then continue dropping comments on blogs and hopefully you would get a PR 3 on the next update. It is good to drop meaningful comments, so that your comments don’t get deleted.

If you are looking for dofollow blogs, you can search on google using the search term “dofollow blogs”. Also, you can make your own list of dofollow blogs. As you visit other blogs and you see it is do follow, copy and paste the URL somewhere. Or you can bookmark the page.

There are also 2 others, I have heard of but I cannot verify it. They are submit your site to directories and linking to your other post. I tried submitting to directories, but has never gotten any PR juice from them. I submitted to PR 3, PR 4 directories that gives one way link. I don’t do reciprocal linking. Linking to your other post is logical because if a site has a PR and you link to a post, some link juice from the PR post would be passed to the no PR post.

Your Permalinks Needs to be Changed

If you just installed your wordpress blog, you would notice that the first post page would have a URL of http://www.blogsnd.com/?p=1 and the 1 shows that that is the first post. This URL is called permalinks. If you have this type of URL, it is advisable to change it because

1. Hard to Show on Search Engine : – It is much more harder for search engine to show this type of URL on their because your keyword is not there. Your keyword can be any word. With this type of permalink, search engines have to search through URLs that has 1 in it. But with your keywords, search engines can rank you on their search just based on your permalinks. I have arrived at websites just through the post permalink.

2. Hard to Remember :- I can look at a title of a post and guess what the permalink is. I would only be wrong if the owner decides to shorten the URL.

How to Change the Permalink On WordPress

To change your wordpress permalink, login to Admin Control Panel –> Permalinks.

I choose Month and Year i.e. /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/. (You can copy and paste this in the custom box)

Some people use just /%postname%/. The would make your post to be http://www.yourblog.com/postname instead. People argue that this is good because search engines don’t have to go through something else i.e. date or category to index that webpage.

I choose the Month and Year because of blogger. Google owns blogger so it would have to make it SEO friendly. On blogger, the permalink is done by blogger. The permalink is /2009/01/postname.

Make Your Blog Visible to Yahoo and MSN Live Search

After Google, the next 2 most popular search engines are Yahoo and MSN live search (now Bing). Both search engines have dedicated users i.e. some of the users vow to use only either Yahoo or MSN live search. They would not even think of using Google. Since both sites are search engines, they would have search engine bots to crawl your blog. It is imperative to submit your URL to both Yahoo and MSN live search

Submit Your Blog URL to Yahoo

At the submission page, you can submit your blog and/or submit your blog feed. You have to click on the arrow so that it can expand to show you the submission text box. Also, click on the arrow to revel the text box of the submit your blog feed.

Submit Your Blog To MSN Live (Now BING)

On the submission page MSN just requires you to submit URL and to enter a captcha. The captcha is a 5 letters word and it is legible. I dislike doing captcha because at times the letters are barely legible. After submission, MSN live search tells you that it indexes pages that it accepts pages that meets it standards. You should be patient and check periodically.

I prefer the Google’s submission to these two because you can write a summary about your site using your keywords. But since Yahoo and MSN live submission are free, I will take advantage of it.
